"Your data is encrypted": the sentence is reassuring, and means little on its own. A locked safe only protects you if you are the only one with the key. For an AI memory, that is exactly the thing to check.
Encrypted, but whose key
Most services encrypt at rest and in transit. It is necessary, but the key often stays on their side. On a legal request, or after an internal incident, what is encrypted can be opened. It is not dishonest, it is how almost everyone works by default. The difference is saying so, and offering better.
The key that is yours
At Nawame, the encryption key belongs to you. By default it is managed for you, to keep things simple. But you can take it back entirely, at any time. From then on, you are the one who opens your memory, and no one else.
The free key server: zero access
You can host your key on your own key server, free. It then no longer passes through us. The result: not even Nawame can decrypt what you write. This is what zero access means, and it is included in every plan, including the free one.
Tested, not just promised
A security promise is only worth something once it is put to the test. Nawame's encryption is attacked continuously by more than 200 AI agents, from the best models, hunting for the slightest flaw. Every weakness found is fixed before it reaches you. The guarantee rests on the technique, verified relentlessly, not on our word.
The rest, in black and white
Data is hosted in Europe and GDPR compliant. Your content is never used to train a model, neither ours nor anyone else's. Every read an AI makes on your memory is written to a log. And you export or delete everything whenever you want. Sovereignty is not a paid add-on: it is the starting point.
